Neurodiversity-Affirming Care

Neurodiversity-Affirming Care

At Healing Pathways, we are also committed to neurodiversity-affirming care. We recognize and respect the full spectrum of how brains work and believe that neurodivergent identities—such as autism, highly sensitive, ADHD, dyslexia, and others—are valuable expressions of human diversity and not deficits to be fixed.  We provide a safe, supportive space for individuals of all neurotypes to explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and navigate challenges in a way that honors who they are.  Our focus is on support, awareness, and helping individuals thrive with their gifts and challenges.

What:  We offer therapy that supports:

  • Individuals on the spectrum  (including late-diagnosed adults)

  • People with ADHD or attention differences

  • Highly sensitive people

  • Neurodivergent teens and young adults

  • Individuals exploring their neurodivergent identity

  • Parents or partners of neurodivergent individuals

How:  Our clinicians use trauma-informed, person-centered approaches and work collaboratively to understand your goals and needs.  We do not approach neurodivergence as something to “fix.” Instead, we focus on:

  • Understanding and affirming your neurotype

  • Managing overwhelm and burnout

  • Navigating relationships and communication differences

  • Supporting executive functioning in a compassionate way

  • Helping you develop tools that fit your brain, not force you into a neurotypical mold

Who: Our team has training in neurodiversity-affirming therapy, sensory regulation, executive functioning support, and trauma-informed care. We continue to learn from neurodivergent voices, lived experience, and evolving best practices.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy Might Be Right for You If…

  • You’re navigating burnout, overwhelm, or masking exhaustion

  • You’ve recently discovered you’re autistic, highly sensitive,  or have ADHD

  • You’re seeking therapy that embraces who you are, not who you’re expected to be
