Looking for the right therapist can be hard and you might be wondering if anyone truly gets how exhausting it is to carry everything you’re holding. Maybe you are tired of pretending you are okay, or maybe you feel completely disconnected from the person you used to be. I want you to take a slow breath and know that you can stop performing here. You don’t need to have the perfect words to describe your pain; you just need to show up as you are. Together, we will gently unpack the heavy pieces, untangle the thoughts, emotions and traumas keeping you awake at night, and find your way back to solid ground. I am ready to listen whenever you are ready to talk.
When I was 18 years old, I experienced a big loss in my family. At that time I was very healthy but soon after that loss, I began experiencing emotional and physical issues that were clearly connected to the traumatic experience I had just had. Ever since that event, it became clear in my mind that our emotional health can have a large impact on our overall wellbeing, and I began to feel a great interest and desire to learn more about trauma and its wide range of effects, hoping to find relief from my pain.
Over time, I found a variety of tools and a lot of healing, but life kept giving me traumatic experiences, spiritual, emotional and physical. These experiences made me wonder if there was something more to my suffering that was beyond my own learning and healing. At some point, I realized that my learning, both through books or classes as well as through my own lived experiences, was meant to prepare me to help others in their struggles. Today I find a lot of joy and fulfillment in connecting with my clients, hearing their stories, learning from them and using my tools to assist them in their healing journey.
In my practice, I use a variety of approaches depending on the needs and goals of the clients. I often use a combination of different kinds of talk therapies as well as some somatic ones, such as Humanistic, Gestalt, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Guided Imagery, EFT tapping and more.
We all have a built-in mechanism that leads us towards emotional healing. However, stressors, unhealthy mindsets, traumatic experiences, and an increased lack of self-awareness diminish this self-healing process. My goal is to help you unlock your own ability to heal and not simply feel better but also achieve a higher quality of life.
Aside from my mental health practice, I am also a certified BodyTalk practitioner, a complementary holistic modality designed to promote relaxation and improve overall wellbeing. For more info on BodyTalk visit this page.
All my sessions are done virtually.
