COUNSELORS & STAFF
Lisa Francis
CMHC
As a trauma-informed neurofeedback technician, I have had the opportunity to work with clients directly as well as improve my own life and the lives of my loved ones. I am a trained Othmer Method neurofeedback provider and have been providing neurofeedback to clients for four years. I am also in the process of becoming fully certified in the Othmer Method while continuing in advanced training courses and regular consultation sessions. I work with our in-house Neurofeedback team of supervisors and clinicians as well as with EEG Info in California and the Neurofeedback Advocacy Project (NAP) with providers across the United States.
In addition, as office manager for six years and counting at Healing Pathways Therapy Center, I have had the privilege of listening to and learning from various client stories, traumas, and life experiences. It has given me great fulfillment, knowledge, and awareness of the importance of taking care of our mental health in numerous ways. I never thought I would have a chance to make a direct impact on clients until a few years ago when I began training as a neurofeedback technician.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive brain training which calms and stabilizes the brain from symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, for example, and promotes healing to the mind and body by regulating the nervous system with consistent weekly sessions. Think of it as going to the gym to exercise. By showing up to the gym consistently, you will slowly get more fit and strong. In addition, neurofeedback is an ideal precursor to talk therapy, and also works in tandem with talk therapy and EMDR.
Neurofeedback requires both time and commitment, but its proven, lasting results support individuals in overcoming challenges with a renewed sense of purpose and well-being. I am deeply committed to this work and have witnessed its transformative power firsthand. I am confident that it can help you heal and thrive and will be a profound addition to your mental health journey.
