Battling with mental health and unhelpful coping skills is exhausting. It can take a toll on both your life and relationships. It takes strength to admit when you need help and even more to seek it out. With that in mind, I’m glad you’re here and am ready to partner with you on your journey toward healing. Together, we will work toward helping you build helpful coping skills, identify your strengths and capacity for resilience, and find peace.

I work with adults and teens to address depression, anxiety, grief, chronic illness/pain, domestic violence, trauma, and other challenges. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and strive to incorporate the diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives of the individuals I work with into their treatment. I work from an attachment and trauma-informed perspective to provide compassionate care to the individuals I work with.

As a clinician, I primarily employ modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and draw from IFS principles to create a tailored, trauma-informed approach for each individual. My practice centers around empowering you as the expert of your experiences and unique identities to work together toward finding the best approach for your healing and growth.

Brittany’s FAQ’s

  • Oftentimes, lasting and meaningful healing for clients comes when therapy is client-driven and holds space for the client to be "the expert of their own experience". As a therapist, I prefer to collaborate with you on identifying your needs, goals, and desired outcomes for therapy. At the start of each session, I will always ask you what you'd like to work on and strive to incorporate it into your overall treatment goals and planning. In addition to this, my approach involves creating a space to be authentic and compassionate towards the challenges you face while also working towards healing by building your resilience.

  • I specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, chronic illness/chronic pain, domestic violence, and trauma. I also specialize in life transitions, self esteem, relationship issues, building positive relationships with one's body, and eating disorders. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and strive to incorporate my client's cultures, backgrounds, and religious/spiritual beliefs as desired into their treatment.

My clinical lens stems from my education in Social Work which means I specialize in seeing my clients' challenges and how environments, systems, and social factors influence their mental health, trauma, and healing. This means in therapy, we hold room to acknowledge the impacts of inequality, social injustice, and present day events have on one's mental health and access to healing. During our time, I work with clients to identify and work toward the things they can control to empower them towards healing while holding space to grieve the things they can't control.

  • I typically begin meeting with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to build a strong understanding of their history, behavior patterns, and start building basic skills to support them in daily life. To encourage collaboration, I welcome and will invite clients to provide feedback on their thoughts on changing the frequency of sessions. Changing frequency will depend on treatment goals, safety, stability, and other factors. If I feel someone is ready to decrease frequency or transition out of therapy, I will initiate discussions with individuals and come to a collaborative decision with them based on their circumstances.

  • I offer both in-person and virtual sessions! I work primarily out of the Provo location and am happy to do what is best for your circumstance.

  • Ways I build strong therapeutic relationships with clients is by meeting them with authenticity, curiosity, and compassion. I am genuinely interested in who you are, how you think, and what makes you you! If you want to talk about your hard moments, your victories, that one awkward moment you had with the Walmart cashier, or your favorite D&D podcast, I'm here for all of it. My goal is for you to feel comfortable to show up as your authentic self when we meet and share your honest thoughts. It takes vulnerability and courage to trust someone with your authentic self. However, growth and change can only happen when we are willing to be honest with others and ourselves about who we are.
