Mara Haight, CMHC
I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and specialize in healing the impact of traumatic experiences, including difficulties with early childhood. I graduated from the University of Utah in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Communication, and then returned to school in 2010 to pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Westminster College. Since 2006, I have worked in various capacities serving those affected by violence, abuse, and addiction disorders. I have worked full-time at the Rape Recovery Center since 2012 and am currently the center's Executive Director. I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing through EMDR HAP and have been practicing EMDR since early 2013. I am the Co-Coordinator of the Utah Association for Women in Psychology and practice from a trauma-informed, intersectional feminist perspective. I believe every individual has the ability to heal if given the right combination of empowerment, information, and support.
